This month I will be teaching an Andy Goldsworthy lesson for Arts Around at Tyler and Aaron’s school. Each month I visit the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. I present an artist and then have the kids do their own project inspired by the artist that we learned about. Since Andy Goldsworthy works almost exclusively with natural, site-specific objects, the boys and I gave it a try in our own front yard, making our own natural sculptures from leaves, twigs and flowers. Here’s a video of what we did. (I dedicate the video to my mom because Jackson and Aiden have not stopped singing “Zippity-do-dah” since my mom and dad were here to watch the boys for the week we were in the Bahamas!)
Absolutely wonderful!! Andy Goldsworthy is one of our favorites and you’ve done him proud.
Wow Jenn! You make such amazing video memories for your family ~ you are so gifted!
Lots of people have imitated his work and put really cool pictures online of what they created inspired by Goldsworthy.. This is one of my favorites:

Thanks Marcail! I am so grateful to have my family to point my camera at!
Great video Jenn! The kids at school are lucky to have you! They are going to have a lot of fun with this one!
Thanks Renea! I hope so! At least I am talking about an artist that is actually alive still!
I love the song and so do the boys! The artwork is fantastic. Good job mommy and boys!
Jackson worked very hard on his – he and Aiden were out there the longest, I think they would have kept working on theirs if I hadn’t told them it was time to go inside!
