This morning, Tyler and Aaron and I ran the annual 5k in North Platte, called the “Jingle Bell Run”. Many of the runners dress up in holiday costumes for this run every year. There were some great costumes this year. It was very cold outside during the run but the sun was shining and there wasn’t any snow. It was a beautiful day. Tyler and Aaron were real troopers. We ran and we walked, when we were walking we talked about Star Wars legos to keep our (their) minds off the cold! Great job Tyler and Aaron for running in their first race!
Here is a video of our favorite costume from the Jingle Bell Run, 3 high school boys ran/walked the whole 5k under a “gingerbread house” they made from a cardboard box. I also included the video of the three runners that wore big present boxes during the run. So cute! You will also see my awesome next-door neighbor Katie who I run with in the North Platte races, well, at least, we run for a couple miles together before she takes off and finishes about 20 minutes before me! Oh well, what can I say? She runs and I, well, do the old-lady shuffle.
Of course when Aiden saw his older brother Aaron going for a ride on our zip line, he immediately started climbing the ladder, too. Thankfully, Uncle Jonathan was there to help Aiden have his own fun “ride” on the zip line. Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Eva came to NP for a fun visit this past weekend. The weather was icky but the company was GREAT!
Over Spring Break we took the kids to the mountains. We stayed in Frisco and skied at Copper Mountain. Tyler, Aaron and Jackson took a ski lesson one day and the next day Mark, my Dad and I took Tyler and Aaron up the bigger lifts and we skied all day! Thankfully, my mom came with us, too and could watch Aiden and Jackson while we skied. Here is a little video I made so that Aaron could talk about his ski trip in his Kindergarten class for “show and share”.
