A short visit to the mountains with Terri-Grandma, Aunt Sherri, my cousins (Sharlene, Shannon and Val) and their kids. The pictures say more than words can. Super fun times!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads we know and love! This morning our family went to the last day of “Nebraska Land Days” for the Junior Rodeo where we saw iddy-biddy 3-10 year olds performing all kinds of rodeo competition tricks (none of which I know the names for but where the heck are their HELMETS!) We did not stick around for the “Chili Blowout” (your imaginations can assume whatever you want to about that event – we got a good laugh out of that) but rather got home to get some major yardwork done (yeah Mark) and get ready for a yummy Father’s Day turkey dinner – complete with oreo-cookie-ice-cream cake for our friend Renea’s birthday. Our next door neighbor Raland (81 years old – has lived in our neighborhood 30 years) joined us for dinner after generously lending his chainsaw to Mark so he could slay some nasty overgrown tree branches that get in the way of our nifty riding mower.

Aiden now has two very visible bottom teeth which he used to enjoy his first oreo cookie today. His personality continues to come out daily and he is so funny and sweet. Jackson is starting to really master the big boy underwear thing, Tyler can read everything and Aaron, our little saint, shares a room with Aiden who still occasionally gets up at night. Aaron is getting very tall (starts kindergarten in the fall) and is sporting his first black eye which he “accidentally” obtained from Tyler while they were wrestling; but don’t worry, we got the trail of blood from his nose out of our new carpet.

Last night we attended a gathering of all the anesthesia staff from the hospital. It was very fun and there were LOTS of kids there and our boys had a great time. Recently I took the boys to the local outdoor pool and have them signed up for swim lessons. We’ve been busy and are having fun but we are NOT unpacked yet. In fact, I had secretly hoped that at least half our boxes of toys would have fallen off the truck into the North Platte river on the way here…..

Hope you’re all doing well, drop a line into our blog and let us know what you’re up to!
