A Denver Update for My Marky

A Denver Update for My Marky

We’re enjoying ourselves here in Denver though we really miss Mark!  The boys and I are doing our best to help my parents move into their beautiful new home – and at the very least we try really hard not to be in the way!  We’ve spent time with my folks and Mark’s parents so the kids get lots of Grandma and Grandpa time.  The boys have gotten to play with their cousins for some major wrestle-mania time to the point where Tyler didn’t even know whose head he was sitting on – um, what else do you expect when six boys ages 2 – 11 get together?  Plus the boys have gotten to play with my cousins’ kids (some are pictured above), aunts and uncles, old friends from Colorado Academy and my best friend’s baby girl – the beautiful Amelie.  We’ve found lots of time in between to play trains, make cookies and hang out with my sister Julie and her AWESOME hubby, Uncle David – who bought a special advent calendar for the boys with CHOCOLATE behind the daily windows.  Of course, on colder days we’ve taken a couple trips to the mall to play on the fruit, just to spend that excess energy that my boys seem to build up – I wish they could just transfer it to me!  Oh well.  Happy Holidays everyone!

We’ll be home for Christmas

My boys can hardly wait to come see family and friends in Colorado for the Christmas Break.  Even Jackson gets it!  Check out my mini-video.  Beware, it is extremely cheesy and may even make you cry!  We can’t wait to see you all!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

This afternoon I took all four boys to the mall after school to see Santa.  The Santa looks like he is smiling but he is actually grimacing from the effort it took to hoist both boys onto his knees.  Tyler and Aaron told Santa what they wanted, I haven’t a clue what they said, so hopefully Santa heard and will fulfill their little hearts’ desires this Christmas.  Jackson wouldn’t set foot near the man, smart boy, and Aiden was busy with a bottle.  Ah!, the life of a mom with four sons.  The woman in line ahead of me had one little girl.  She took one look at me and said, “Four boys?!  God bless you!”  I hadn’t sneezed so I assume she was referring to the awesome responsibility of carting four boys around a crowded mall during the holiday season………or maybe she was talking about when they each have their driver’s license……and girlfriends………………………..GOD HELP ME!

Funny inventions, Aiden and me

Funny inventions, Aiden and me

Tyler is ALWAYS making interesting new things with his K’nex, his legos, a pile of boxes in our mudroom, it doesn’t matter, he seems to have an eye for the possibilities.  He is an inventor at heart.  Above are some pictures of his latest invention: an apple pealer/juicer.  He desperately wanted to try it out so I gave him an apple to see how the practical application turned out….over the course of a half an hour he used his K’nex apple juicer/peeler to reduce his apple down to what you see in the pictures, then he ate it!  He is an interesting little man.  His mind NEVER stops!  I think some day he may dream up a way to accomplish world peace!

Jackson at School – Making Cranberry Sauce

Jackson at School – Making Cranberry Sauce

I am continually amazed by the experiences that Jackson is having in his 2-3 year old Montessorri toddler class.  I think these pictures were taken right before Thanksgiving – he is making cranberry sauce!  I don’t even know how to make that!
